HQANYWHERE
connecting recruiters and remote talent
BRIEF
Create screens for recruiter user flow, including branding of site.
On a design team of two, we were tasked to revamp the company's site - focusing on their two main users:
- Recruiters
- Technical Job Seeker
MY ROLE
UX and Visual Designer for the recruiter user flow.
APPROACH
After interviewing the business, we identified key screens and flows necessary for the site to function for each of these users. I was tasked to focus on the recruiter user flow. Post-design, we discussed the site's branding - which was reflected in the final designs.
COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS
I performed a competitive analysis to understand the job posting user flow and identify common fields for job posting.
Key Findings:
- Required user flow includes a way to post about the position and company, and a way to pay for your job post
- Web-first design due to business limitations
- Importance of calling out information about payment and expectations about the ad before checkout, since first iterations of this site will not have a recruiter log-in.
USER INTERVIEWS
In addition to understanding the recruiter flow, I wanted to make sure we included key pieces of information on the job posting. I interviewed a few potential users who recently applied for a job on a third-party site.
Key Finding:
- When comparing different positions they tend to look at:
- What the company does
- Compensation
- How long a post as been open
SKETCHING AND WIREFRAMING
Based on the key findings from research, I looked at the user flow and 4 main screens were identified:
- Job Information
- Preview of Ad
- Checkout
- Job Posting
I broke down each page into a mini-sketch session starting from the Job Posting page as it would set a good foundation for the other screens.
NEXT STEPS
With limited time, I was able to do a quick guerilla usability test to see if the user flow made sense.
Recommendations:
- Usability test with a few technical recruiters to see if they comprehend the flow and content
- After launching - see where recruiters run into issues during the full job posting funnel
